- Different courses on Six Sigma are organized by IIQA. It is taught through quizzes, group exercises, case studies, extra reading materials and practice. You will be encouraged to learn important concepts of Lean Six Sigma. Finally, an examination will be taken.
- Six Sigma is a method that provides organizations tools to improve the capability of their business processes. This increase in performance and decrease in process variation helps lead to defect reduction and improvement in profits, employee morale, and quality of products or services.
- “Six Sigma quality” is a term generally used to indicate a process is well controlled (within process limits ±3s from the center line in a control chart, and requirements/tolerance limits ±6s from the center line).
- Lean Six Sigma is a management system that helps any organization to improve their profitability.
It involves systematic data collection & statistical analysis while focusing on the pain areas affecting management to achieve one of the following THREE Goals:
- Reduce defects in any process to reach a level of less than 3.4 per million opportunities for error.
- Eliminate Wasteful Practices.
- Delight internal and external customers by fulfilling their present & future needs
Why Lean & Six Sigma
In order to achieve Six Sigma, organizational processes need to keep their defects to a maximum of 3.4 per million (99.99966%) opportunities. A Six Sigma defect can be defined as anything that is outside of client specifications. Its objective is to minimize the variability in business and manufacturing processes. One of the salient highlights is the ability to create focus on achieving quantifiable and measurable financial returns from any six sigma project.
Developed by Motorola in 1986, Six Sigma is basically a set of tools and techniques that enable process improvement.
